Pia Mance

Founder and creative director

Pia Mance is the founder and creative director of Heaven Mayhem, the IT-girl accessories brand that recently launched a state of the art pop-up including a custom photobooth, on the third floor of Selfridges in London. A global tastemaker represented by IMG Models, she also hosts her namesake podcast, Pia’s Pod. Pia’s work and insights have been featured in leading publications including Vogue BusinessForbes, and Business of Fashion.

TYW: What inspired you to launch Heaven Mayhem?

Pia: Heaven Mayhem was inspired by my mother and grandmother’s 80s jewelry collections. I wanted to honour that heirloom, vintage feel while modernizing it for today’s capsule wardrobe — creating thoughtful accessories that celebrate the modern woman.

TYW: What was the first piece of jewellery you ever bought?

Pia: The first jewellery I was buying was from flea markets from age 11, I would go with my dad every Sunday! But one of my first memories of being obsessed with a piece was when I was 14, I absolutely had to have a gold Marc Jacobs watch. I saved up for so long to buy this piece!

TYW: What’s your most worn piece from your collection?

Pia: Right now, I’d have to say our Esme Sunglasses. They just launched, and I think they’re the perfect pair everyone should own! My day to day uniform would be: Carino watch gold, Esme glasses black and Clemmie earrings in gold.

TYW: How do you approach jewellery do you keep things minimal or do you like to layer?

Pia: One thing to know about me is that no outfit feels complete without accessories. Honestly, I’m in head-to-toe Heaven! For everyday wear, I usually reach for lightweight earrings (Clemmie Silver) and finish the look with a trustee pair of statement sunnies (Sloane Black). If i'm going out, i'll do something like our Ribbon earrings for a more staement look. You'll also never see me without a Heaven Mayhem watch on and most likely carrying my laptop with a Heaven Mayhem case.

TYW: What inspires your designs the most?

Pia: Traveling and exploring new places always sparks my creativity. Some of my favourite destinations are Tokyo and Copenhagen — the street style, unique concept stores, and art galleries there never fail to inspire me. Every trip leaves me with fresh ideas for new designs. More recently I was in London and found myself taking photos of the iron steel posts, which are in front of a lot of buildings. This will serve as inspiration for some collections down the road.

TYW: What’s the most sentimental piece of jewellery you own?

Pia: I would say it’s my engagement ring! My husband proposed with one ring and surprised me with another ring at our five year anniversary, both are so sentimental as I had absolutely nothing to do with the process.

TYW: What are five pieces in your wardrobe you couldn’t live without?

Pia: 1. I cannot live without a good basic tee Brands that I love for basics include Flore FloreLe SetEterne2. A big tote bag I am constantly on the hunt for chic tote bags that actually fit my laptop. I’ve been wearing my Bottega Andiamo Medium Bag in Black for year (yes it fits my MacBook Air!) It fits more than you think and I just throw everything in there. 3. A good pair of jeans, I love my Coperni straight leans. They are so flattering 4. Trusty flip-flops, I am all about flip flops this summer. They’re so comfortable and easy to wear. I love these from JUDE THE LABEL5. You already know I’m gonna say accessories! Anything and everything from my brand Heaven Mayhem!
